We like movies, how about you?

Chris and I have been watching a lot of movies lately. Not a ridiculous amount, but a few here and there over the last few days. We had every intention of getting caught up on the movies nominated for Best Picture at tomorrow night’s Academy Awards. Then of course, our adult ADD set in, and we got distracted. So I’ll tell you what we did watch, because I am sure you’re dying to know.

  • The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I grew up on this movie, and it has always been ranked in my top five favorites, but Chris had never seen it. I had to break him in! He thought I was nuts, and was thankful when it was over. But in my opinion, it is required viewing. Everyone should see it atleast once in their life.
  • Ghost Busters. WHO YOU GONNA CALL!? Neither of us had seen this movie in years. I don’t think much beats Rick Moranis’ character in this movie! I adore it, and could probably watch it again right now.
  • Silver Linings Playbook. We made it through one of the Oscar picks! To be honest, it took a little bit for me to understand what the buzz was about. But toward the middle of the movie, I began to really care about the characters, and I felt invested in them. I love movies like that! It was a good movie, for sure.
  • Nightbreed. This is another one I grew up on. You probably haven’t seen it, it’s one of those ones that could easily be something only my weird mom knew about. When watching it, Chris turned to me and said “Your mom actually let you watch this when you were a kid? It didn’t give you nightmares?”. I had to laugh. But really, it made me think about it. She did let me watch some pretty out there stuff when I was a kid.

That about does it! We’re going to have one last go at getting a nominated movie watched tonight. We’ve heard rave reviews about Lincoln, and I can’t wait to see it! I only hope I can stay awake for it. Two and a half hour long movies are not my specialty.

I <3 the Rocky Horror Picture Show :) For my father/daughter dance at my wedding I'm going to surprise him by breaking off the usual sappy song into "The Time Warp". Too excited for that.

I really want to watch Silver Linings Playbook. My fiance used to suffer with Bi-Polar disorder and it seem like something we'd really like to watch together.
